5280 Vet Plus: 5280 Drug Testing is partnering with Veterinarian practices across the country to encourage and implement employee screening programs, that includes drug testing.

“Veterinary employers have an obligation to their teams to provide a safe and drug-free workplace. Furthermore, they need to provide support to those who have a problem with drug abuse and addiction, especially if that problem is a result of job-related stressors and vulnerability combined with access to psychoactive drugs and medications. It’s time to address this problem head on and bring the stigma of drug abuse and addiction out of the shadows” (Jon Geller, DVM, DABVP, CVJ, hospital director at Fort Collins Veterinary Emergency and Rehabilitation Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado).

We recognize that veterinarian practices have unique issues related to the accessibility of medications used to treat their patients. While some practices may have employees that fall under standard drug testing protocol, others have a number of employees that have access to a number of mind and/or mood altering and addictive drugs.

For these reasons, we have a number of drug panels that can be customized to fit the unique needs of the veterinarian practice.

Custom panels can be created to include any or all of the following:

  • Amphetamines
  • Barbiturates
  • Benzodiazepines
  • Buprenorphine
  • Cocaine
  • Fentanyl
  • Ketamine
  • Marijuana
  • Methamphetamine
  • Opiates + Expanded Opiates (to include synthetics)
  • Oxycodone
  • Tramadol
